Restoring vital connectivity in South Sudan

Mabey Bridge, a leading international modular bridging specialist, is pleased to announce the completion and full reopening of both ends of the Juba Bridge in South Sudan. This vital trade route is the only access over the White Nile River and allows for the movement of heavy commercial trucks and other commerce that is key to the economy of the country. Mabey Bridge partnered with local construction company, Rhino Stars, to complete this important project, with a Mabey Bridge Site Advisor guiding the operation on site in South Sudan.

Michael Treacy, CEO, Mabey Bridge said,

“The people of South Sudan deserve solid, functional infrastructure to ensure their economy thrives, and we’re proud to have been able work in partnership with Rhino Stars on this project to restore this important trade route."

The reopening ceremony took place on December 2, 2021 and was attended by government officials and company representatives including the Minister, Mijok Mijak, the British Embassy’s Charge d’Affaires, Kate Johnston, and Rhino Stars Managing Director, Peter Atem Ngor.
