Mabey welcomes the Mayor of Lydney to its Bridge headquarters

Bridge and engineering services specialist, Mabey Bridge, welcomed Cllr Bob Berryman, Mayor of Lydney and his wife, along with Cllr Brian Pearman, Deputy Mayor from Lydney Town Council, to its modular bridging headquarters based in Lydney last week.

Innovation was at the forefront of the visit, with the Mayor seeing new robots at work in the factory. The robots are a multi-million pound investment, helping to support the manufacturing of the Mabey Compact 200™ (C200) – one of the world’s most widely used modular steel bridges. There was also an opportunity to try out Mabey’s Virtual Reality bridging experience and see Mabey’s full range of bridging solutions first-hand.

Michael Treacy, Chief Executive of Mabey Bridge said: “We are delighted to have welcomed representatives from Lydney Town Council to our Lydney facility today. We are very proud of the high-quality bridging products we manufacture here at Lydney, and our relationship with the local community is hugely important to the business and all our staff. We very much look forward to the Town Council’s on-going support as we ramp up production in 2018.”

Cllr Bob Berryman, Mayor of Lydney said:“It is always a pleasure to be invited to visit a local business and to see the use of innovative ideas happening in our community. Mabey has demonstrated itself as a vibrant place to work, offering fantastic future employment opportunities here in Lydney.”
