Leading bridge and engineering services specialist, Mabey Bridge, was pleased to welcome Rt Hon Mark Harper, MP for The Forest of Dean, to its modular bridging headquarters in Lydney, Gloucestershire, today.

The visit marks the opening of the company’s £2.6m investment in a new robotic cell, which manufactures the Mabey Compact 200™ (C200) – the world’s most widely used modular steel bridge.

Michael Treacy, Chief Executive of Mabey Bridge, said: “We were delighted to welcome Rt Hon Mark Harper MP to Bridge Park today to unveil the next generation of industrial robotics. Our investment here has enabled us to manufacture more safely, quickly and efficiently, accelerating our processes and halving the production time of some of our C200 components.”

Mark Harper MP said: " Mabey’s investment in the Lydney site is testament to the company’s commitment to driving innovation, and it makes them significantly more competitive in the global markets they serve. It’s always rewarding to see longstanding local businesses being proactive to ensure continued success, and I look forward to supporting them further in their endeavours.’
